Top 10 Google Easter Eggs and Tricks

10. Google Tilt

Google_Tilt
Just get your ass to Google and type in “tilt” and press Enter. You will now find that the search results for the results “tilt” are now slanted. It’s really pointless, but it’s fun to know so you can show your friends one day for them to turn around and say “oh, wow, that’s really cool” in a sarcastic voice. When they do this hit them with: “You know what you need to do don’t you?” Your friend: “what?” You: “get over yourself!”

9. Google Underwater

Google_Underwater
Go to Google and type “Google Underwater” and press “I’m Feeling Lucky.” Awww, Google is underwater. With its sinking search bar, clickable waves and search results that drop into the water when you search, it kept us entertained for a full 5 minutes. We typed in “turd” and guess what was floating in our water? We insist you do the same. One piece that dropped looked so realistic we were creasing.

8. Google Terminal

Ever wanted to know what Google may have looked like in the 80s? Typing “Google Terminal” and pressing “I’m Feeling Lucky” will bring up the web using an old-fashioned computer so you can see. We have to admit that this trick is kind of cool as you can actually search the web using this thing. With its classic text and dial-up modem sounds, the first years of the internet would have sucked if we used it back then and more so if it was still like this today.

7. Zerg Rush

Do you hate Google? Well, type in “Zerg Rush” and press Enter. You will now see the Os from the Google logo eat the result page. If you double-click the Os you can kill them – but remember that we don’t like Google so we can’t help them. Although, it’s kind of a cool game as the Os come from every direction and you need to kill them to build up your score which you can then submit to show your friends.
If you are wondering: Zergs are an alien race of insectoids in the game StarCraft (Blizzard Entertainment). In the game you “rush” them by gathering your battle units and blitz them.

6. Google Sphere

Are you sick of Google’s static text? Well go to Google, type “Google Sphere” and press “I’m Feeling Lucky.” You will now notice that Google Images has become dynamic and is now a circling sphere of text. You can even control the speed of the spinning text by moving your mouse cursor closer or further away from the sphere. Now try searching for something and you will notice that the images returned will also rotate.

5. Do a Barrel Roll

Ever thought to yourself, “I know what would be cool! If my Google result pages would do a 360 spin, clockwise.” Yeah, us too. Well, it looks like the boffins at Google have our backs and they have given us exactly what we wanted. So the next to you are visiting your best friend Google, type: “Do a Barrel Roll” (with or without capitals), press Enter and be amazed.
Btw, it’s a fun play on the classic Star Fox’s Peppy’s phrase for any that are wondering. We are guessing you weren’t though.

4. Google Pond

Ever wanted to know what your monitor would look like underwater? You could always place it in your bath, but you probably will wake up in A&E or even worse, not at all. The safest way to make the monitor seem like it’s submerged is go to Google, type in “Google Pond” and the press “I’m Feeling Lucky.”

3. Google Guitar

Don’t own a guitar? Don’t worry. Go to Google and type”Google Guitar” and press “I’m Feeling Lucky” to bring up your very own online guitar, along with a record button that you can use to show your friends what you create. As you will agree, this is the only Google Easter Egg that you could actually waste hours on and which has a legit purpose.

2. Google Gravity

Type “Google Gravity” and press “I’m Feeling Lucky” and you will see the Google homepage come crashing down as gravity kicks in. What is extra-cool about this effect is the ability to pick up the Google logo and fling it about the screen. You can also click and throw other items if you search for them on that screen.

1. Find Chuck Norris

Find_Chuck_Norris
Type “Chuck Norris” in Google and press “I’m Feeling Lucky.”
Chuck Norris…the world seems to love the guy and we are part of this love community. There are that many jokes about the guy and his godlike-power that it’s hard not to come across one of them from time to time. If you don’t know who he is then all we can say to use is GTFO! Just remember that you can’t find Chuck Norris, Chuck Norris finds you!
We won’t tell you how “I’m Feeling Lucky” works as it will spoil the whole part of Google being fun and happy people. And if you are beating the system and you use other search engines such as Yahoo or Bing then we applaud you for giving Google the middle finger, but we have to admit that these Easter Eggs are worth going to Google to try out.
